DD Form 1348-5, Notice of Availability/Shipment - or NOA - is a form used by a shipping activity to inform the CR or FF that the material is ready for shipment. The NOA is used as a cover document for separate copies of the DD Form 1348-1A, Issue Release/Receipt Document.
The NOA describes the shipment unit while the individual DD 1348-1A Forms provide data about the specific items within the shipment. The set of forms notifies the designated FMS freight forwarder that the material is ready for dispatch and indicates the need for export release when it is appropriate.
