COMMERCIAL FISHING MONTHLY HARVEST REPORT FORM
HOW TO CORRECTLY FILL OUT YOUR COMMERCIAL FISHING MONTHLY HARVEST REPORT
1. COMMERCIAL FISHING MONTHLY HARVEST REPORT FORMS must be received by the Department of
Conservation within 30 days of the end of each month, even if you did not fish. For months not fished, write
“DID NOT FISH” across the form. There is no need to submit reports for months prior to buying a permit.
2. Each report should cover your daily fishing activity for the entire month. There is a line for each day of the
month, fill out the form daily if you fished. Do not enter zeros on days not fished, just leave those days
blank.
3. Record PERMITTEE NAME, COMMERCIAL FISHING PERMIT NUMBER, MONTH, and YEAR.
4. Record the Location Fished daily by indicating the River Name (you can use abbreviations provided on the
form), Pool No. (20-26) if you fished the upper Mississippi River (enter “99” if you fished downriver of Mel
Price Lock and Dam near Alton, IL) and River Mile you fished.
5. Record the Kind of Gear Fished by entering the Number Used (Hooks and/ or Hoop Nets) or Yards Used
(Seines, Trammel Nets and/or Gill Nets) each day.
6. Record your Harvest in Pounds (lbs.) or Number (No.) by Species daily for each species that you harvest. Do
not report fish that you release.
7. For Bowfin, Shovelnose Sturgeon and Paddlefish only, record the actual number (No.), Total Weight (lbs.),
and Raw Egg Weight (lbs.) harvested daily (ROE FISH COMMERCIAL HARVEST PERMIT IS REQUIRED).
8. List the Name(s) and Address(es) of anyone who received Bowfin, Shovelnose Sturgeon or Paddlefish
products taken under your permit (ROE FISH COMMERCIAL HARVEST PERMIT IS REQUIRED).
9. List Lost or Stolen Gear Tags by recording the tag type and number.
10. Sign and Date the report form.
11. Mail Commercial Fishing Monthly Reports to the address provided below.
These reports, when summarized, provide an important measure of commercial fish harvest trends. Your accurate
reporting is necessary to help the Missouri Department of Conservation manage these valuable fishery resources.
Failure to submit an accurate monthly report on time is a violation of the Wildlife Code, and shall be sufficient
cause to revoke your current year’s commercial fishing permit and deny renewal of the permit for the following
year (3 CSR 10-10.727).
