LICENSE REGULATORY INFORMATION
A.
IT IS ILLEGAL TO PURCHASE FISH FROM A FISHERMEN FOR RESALE WITHOUT A VALID FISH BUYERS
LICENSE, SECTION 7(1) FISHERIES ACT REGULATIONS.
B.
STATISTICS ON FISH PURCHASES AND SALES MUST BE PROVIDED TO THE PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REPORTING PROVISIONS
OF THE FISHERIES ACT REGULATIONS, SECTION 7(11)(b).
C.
HOLDING, HANDLING AND THE TRANSPORTATION OF FISH MUST BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
REGULATIONS MADE UNDER THE PEI FISH INSPECTION ACT, SECTION 13 (4.6) AND SCHEDULES “E” AND “F”.
D.
FISH BUYERS LICENSES ARE ISSUED ANNUALLY AT A FEE OF $50.00 PER LICENSE CLASS PER BUYING
STATION.
E.
LICENSE FEES CAN BE PAID BY CASH, CHEQUE OR MONEY ORDER, SECTION 9(3) AND SCHEDULE 6 OF THE PEI
FISHERIES ACT REGULATIONS.
F.
FISH THAT IS INTENDED FOR PROCESSING SHALL BE ADEQUATELY ICED OR CHILLED WHILE BEING HELD
OR TRANSPORTED AND SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM CONTAMINATION AND THE WEATHER.
