RURAL RELOCATION BENEFIT
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
You are eligible if you:
(a) Reside in a county with less than 7 persons per
square mile;
and
RURAL RELOCATION BENEFIT
(b) Either -
(1) Physically relocate at least 500 miles in order
to pursue a program of education under the
Post-9/11GI Bill; or
(2) Travel by air to physically attend an institution
of higher learning for pursuit of a program of
education under the Post-9/11 GI Bill if no
other land-based method of transportation is
available due to an absence of roads or other
infrastructure.
HOW MUCH DOES THE RURAL RELOCATION
BENEFIT PAY?
If you qualify for the benefit, you will receive a one-time
payment of $500.00.
HOW DO I APPLY?
You must complete the form on the other side of this
page and mail it, along with the following
documentation, to the VA Regional Processing Office
that handles your education claim.
(1) PROOF OF RURAL RESIDENCE - You must
