This program reimburses crop and livestock farmers for up to 75% of certain certification costs associated with transition to
organic production, and reimburses up to $250 of approved education expenses with a maximum payment of $1000 per year
for up to three years. Applicants must live and farm in North Dakota and may not own or operate any already-certified organic
land. Applicants must provide a document from a USDA-accredited organic certification agency confirming their transition
status and verifying that they have undergone an on-farm inspection. Costs calculated per fiscal year: July 1 - June 30.
