TO REGISTRANTS OF PESTICIDE PRODUCTS IN UTAH
1. What must be registered in Utah?
All pesticides must be registered prior to distribution within the state.
“Pesticide” means any: “substance or mixture of substances, including a living organism, which is intended to prevent,
destroy, control, repel, attract, or mitigate any insect, rodent, nematode, snail, slug, fungus, weed, or other form of plant
or animal life that is normally considered to be a pest, or that the commissioner declares to be a pest; (b) any substance
or mixture of substances intended to be used as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant; (c) any spray adjuvant, such as
wetting agent, spreading agent, deposit builder, adhesive, or emulsifying agent with deflocculating properties of its
own used with a pesticide to aid its application or effect; and (d) any other substance designated by the commissioner
by rule. (Utah Code 4-14-2 (21)).
2. Adding new products
* New products can be added easily on our website at
https://ag.utah.gov/productregistration.html
* The annual registration fee is $195.00 per pesticide product.
* Complete the
application form.
* The fee must be made payable to the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food and must accompany the application.
* A current label for each NEW product must be submitted with an application, on paper, disk, flash drive or email.
* All 25(b) products are required to be registered.
3. Yearly renewals
* All registrations expire on June 30 of each year; renewals not received in our office by that date will be assessed a
late fee of $25.00 per product.
* Any changes in labeling for each product must be submitted throughout the year or with renewal.
* If your product is currently registered and the label has not changed from the previous year, please indicate
NO LABEL CHANGES.
* Discontinuance of a product requires notification either by email, on the UDAF website or on the renewal form. Payment
of registration is required for 2 years.
* To CANCEL a product, a letter is required stating that the product is no longer in the channels of trade.
* Please keep the following information current: contact person, mailing address, phone number, fax number, email
address for contact person and the URL for the company's website.
Your cooperation with the above mentioned items will expedite the registration of your product(s) and allow the Utah Department
of Agriculture and Food to better serve you and the consumers of Utah.

material used on, or attached to the containers of the above listed pesticide products. This application may also be submitted
by email.
I hereby certify the information appearing on the attached data sheet is true and correct in every respect, and that every
package of the above named products will be labeled as described.
All registrations expire on June 30 each year. Renewals not received in our office by that date shall be subject to a
penalty of $25.00 per registered product, and may be subject to possible citations.
