18. REMARKS
DD FORM 1748-4 INSTRUCTIONS (CRRC/MCADS)
Complete Joint Airdrop Inspection Record as CRRC/MCADS required by AR 59-4 / OPNAVINST 4630-24E / AFJ 13-210(I) / MCO 13480.1E, and as detailed below:
Item 1. Enter the designation and geographic location of the military unit responsible for the equipment being tendered for airdrop. Example: ADFSD Ft Lee VA.
Item 2. Enter the unit of aircraft commander (Complete during after-loading inspection). Example: 99 AS.
Item 3. Enter the designation of the locality from which the unit being airlifted is departing. Example: Langley AFB VA.
Item 4. Enter the model and series of aircraft that will airlift the equipment to be airdropped. Example: C-130H.
Item 5. Enter the complete serial number (tail number) of the aircraft on which the equipment is loaded. (Complete during the after-loading inspection). Example: 99-0999.
Item 6. Enter the type of container(s) / platform(s) tendered for airdrop. Enter the type and number of parachutes used.
Item 7. Enter the publication number and specific chapter utilized in rigging for airdrop. Example: FM 4-20.103 Chap 5.
Item 8. Annotate the type of release to be used (CVR, CRS, or Manual).
Item 9. Enter the total weight of the load. Example: 2500.
Item 10. Enter the length of the load. Example: 96.
Item 11. Enter the width of the load. Example: 48.
Item 12. Enter the height of the load. Example: 50.
Item 13. This section is used for the Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC).
Item 14. This section is used for the Maritime Craft Aerial Delivery System (MCADS). A DD Form 1748 (Platforms) must be accomplished for the MCADS platform and attached with
the DD Form 1748-4 (CRRC, MCADS).
Item 15. Hazardous material certification.
Item 16. Enter local time and date of inspections. All entries, including signatures, must be complete and legible. Both the Transported Force and Airlift Unit inspectors certify completion of the
inspection. When the load is delivered to the aircraft, the aircrew loadmaster will ensure all items 1 through 12 are entered and correct, and ensure all checks in the before loading column (items 13
through 15) are entered. Ensure items 16A and B are completed.
Item 17. Enter local time and date of inspections. All entries including signatures, must be complete and legible. Both inspectors must certify completion. NOTE: After all inspections are completed, the
aircrew loadmaster ensures that all applicable columns have been checked and affixes their signature certifying completion of all inspection requirements.
Item 18. Enter any comments pertaining to the load, loading difficulties encountered, or reason for rejection of the load. Also include any other pertinent facts concerning the load or delays.
When in flight rigging is required, those items to be completed inflight will be annotated in this block also.
