What Is an Act of Donation of a Movable?
An Act of Donation of a Movable is a document that can be used when individuals would like to donate their motor vehicle in Louisiana. The purpose of the document is to put in writing an agreement, in which one individual agrees to donate their motor vehicle, while the other individual agrees to accept it.

Louisiana Act of Donation Instructions
In the document, the individual who is donating the movable property is addressed as The Donor, while the individual who receives the movable property is addressed as The Donee. The form is supposed to be completed by a notary public and consists of several parts, which include the following:
- Parish. In the first part of the document, the notary public must designate the name of the Louisiana parish where the document is being signed.
- The Donor. Here the notary public must state the name of the donor.
- The Donee. Similar to the previous section, here the notary public must state the name of the donee.
- Movable Property Details. The notary public can use this part of the act, to provide information about the movable property that is being donated. It can include its year, make, model, and vehicle identification number.
- The Value of the Movable Property. This section of the form is supposed to be used to indicate the value of the donated property.
- The Date. The document must contain a date when it was signed.
- Signatures. A Louisiana Act of Donation must be signed by the donor, the donee, and two witnesses in presence of a notary public.
