How to Get a Certificate of Authenticity?

If you want to have a unique and memorable Certificate of Authenticity, you may want to consider creating your own using an editable template. This gives you the chance to be creative and make a certificate that will be reflective of your work and professionalism, which for an artist is crucial. There is a certain structure to Certificates of Authenticity, so make sure that you include the following points in order for it to be genuine:

  • The name of the artist that created the artwork;
  • The name of the artwork. Usually, artists like to create a title for their creation, you should include this too;
  • Include the year that the work of art was created;
  • Write down the dimensions of the artwork;
  • Include information regarding the types of paint used (or if the artwork is printed, the ink that was used) along with the type of material the artwork was created on (type of paper, perhaps a specific canvas). The more information you provide, the easier it will be to recognize your work and look after it. If it requires thorough looking after, you can include information on how to do this correctly;
  • A photograph of the work of art. This will be useful if the certificate ever gets lost;
  • A short sentence confirming that the work is authentic.

Some artists may also include additional information on their certificate which could include their signature, the place where the artwork was created as well as a unique code.

How to Make a Certificate of Authenticity?

If you want to present yourself as a professional artist on the market, you need to ensure that your certificate looks appropriate. Consider the following tips:

  • Do not print your certificates on “normal” paper. Instead, you should print them on good quality paper that will look professional;
  • You can also attach a sticker to the back of the artwork. This sticker can summarize the information on the certificate in short and would be useful in instances when a certificate could get lost. However, it is important to understand that the sticker should not replace the certificate;
  • If you have a representative (such as an agent), you can provide their details on the certificate too.

Now you are all set to go – saving you a huge amount of time and allowing you to focus on your creative work.
