NOTICE OF INTENT
The system may use this form to provide notice to ADEQ or MCESD (if MCESD regulated), if the
system intends to skip the E. coli sampling, and sample for Cryptosporidium instead.
Notice of Intent to Sample for Cryptosporidium, instead of E. coli:
 Schedule 4 systems may choose to forgo E. coli sampling, and sample instead for
Cryptosporidium, and must submit written notification of their intent to sample for
Cryptosporidium to ADEQ or MCESD, no later than July 1, 2017
 Alternatively, a system that choses to conduct E. coli sampling, may stop sampling for E.
coli at any time, and notify ADEQ or MCESD that the system will instead conduct
Cryptosporidium sampling.
 Any system that elects to stop E. coli sampling must notify ADEQ or MCESD as soon as
possible, and obtain regulatory approval prior to initiation of the system’s Cryptosporidium
monitoring. This form is an example of the necessary written notification.
NOTE: Systems must:
 Begin Cryptosporidium sampling (Schedule 4 Systems only) no later than April 1, 2019 and
 Submit their sampling schedule for Cryptosporidium to ADEQ or MCESD no later than 3
months prior to beginning their Cryptosporidium sampling, and
 Obtain approval prior to beginning Cryptosporidium sampling.
