STIPULATIONS OF THE LIVE TRANSPORTATION PERMIT
1. A private pond permit is required before stocking of fish is allowed, even if the fish are purchased from and
transported by a commercial fish facility. Fish species must be approved on your private pond permit prior
to stocking.
2. No permit is required to:
.
Transport fish between licensed commercial fish facilities,
.
Transport fish by a commercial fish facility operator to a permitted private pond,
.
Import rainbow trout (all color phases), blue and channel catfish, or a Coho to a licensed commercial
fish facility. A permit is required, however, to transport these fish live within the state unless a
commercial operator is doing the hauling.
3. Only warm water species (bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie) may be taken from the wild for transport and
release into a private pond.
4. Collection methods are limited to legal sport fishing methods and all regulations and rules (bag limits,
minimum size, gear, etc.) must be complied with. A valid Idaho fishing license is required. Other anglers
may assist in collecting fish with the permittee, however, the transport permit must be in possession and
legally licensed anglers in the transport vehicle or following close by, or a signed proxy transport statement
from each angler with the transport permit.
5. Grass carp (white amur) must be certified triploid by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the
fish must be certified free of the Asian Tapeworm. Ponds receiving grass carp must be screened to prevent
loss of fish, or have no outlet. An inspection of the pond by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game is
required before a permit will be issued.
Approval is required by the Eagle Fish Health Lab, Region, and Fisheries Bureau.
6. Illegal release of live fish has serious adverse effect on existing fish populations and on fishing. If you
suspect an illegal fish release has occurred or may occur, report it to the nearest Department
representative or call the CAP toll-free number 1-800-632-5999.
I, the undersigned applicant agree and accept all provisions and stipulations listed above.
