Form N208 Claim Form (Cpr Part 8) - United Kingdom

What Is Form N208?

Form N208, Claim form (CPR Part 8) , is an official document that litigants can use when requesting the court to handle a matter under the alternative procedure for disputes. If you believe the court can reach a decision without a substantial dispute of fact and you think the defendant cannot argue your position expressed in the claim, you can ask the court to follow CPR Part 8 rules and grant you a quick hearing.

Alternate Name:

  • Part 8 Claim Form.

This form was issued by the United Kingdom HM Courts & Tribunals Service on @@form _rev@@ , with all previous editions obsolete. You can download N208 Form through the link below.

When it comes to claims of this category, there are no overly complicated facts to contest, it is highly unlikely the opponent will present any contradictory facts for the court to examine, and the court rarely allocates a track. Your claim will be reviewed and processed much faster without expert evidence and witnesses so consider filling out this document when you know the other party will not object to a quick and fair trial.

How to Complete Form N208?

Follow these steps to prepare Form N208:

  1. Enter the name of the court that should handle your claim (indicate the proper division and county).

  3. Record the full names of the claimant and the defendant. Note that if you are suing a firm, corporation, or company, you need to add their status to your initial claim to avoid confusion. Also, you may include their last known place of business or the address where the principal currently lives.
  4. Answer "yes" if your claim is in any way related to the Human Rights Act.
  5. Outline the details of the claim using the provided space. Note that if the claim takes more than one page to elaborate on, your case may not belong to the CPR Part 8.
  6. Enter the name and mailing address of the defendant - this is where the individual or company in question will be served the claim form. If they reside outside the European Economic Area, you have to obtain the court's permission to submit a claim before you fill out this document.
  7. State the fee requested by the court and the amount of money you are spending to obtain the services of the legal representative. Indicate the date you have paid the fee.
  8. Confirm the information in the claim is true and complete. Write down your full name and sign the form. If this document is prepared by someone else, this individual must record the name of their firm and their status.
