How to Make a Gable Box?
Creating a custom gable box is an imaginative and enjoyable task that can be completed quickly with just a few simple materials. Information on how to construct a gable box is provided below:
Start by gathering the necessary supplies:
- Cardboard or another type of strong material;
- A pair of scissors;
- A ruler;
- A normal pencil;
- Some glue or sticky tape;
- Any additional elements that you would like to use as décor.
Once you have everything you need, follow the instructions outlined below:
- Make a rectangular shape out of a piece of card which is double in length as it is in width. For example, take the measurements of 15cm for width and 30cm for length, but this will depend on how big you want your box to be;
- Make an incision in the middle of the card by scoring it vertically at the halfway point;
- Create straight lines between the corners of the rectangle to the middle fold, using a ruler. In the top section, a triangle must be formed where the lines cross in the middle of the fold;
- Trim all of the rectangular shape's corners by cutting across the parallel lines. Four tabs which could be folded up to form the required shape must be present on the remainder of the shape;
- To create the final structure, gather the four tabs jointly by folding them upwards towards their diagonal crease. The openings should be fixed firmly in place using your chosen adhesive;
- You may also add adornments or colorful paper to the box. Create a pair of holes on the highest part of the package and put a piece of ribbon or string through them, which will also create a handle.
