How to Make a Gift Box?

Here are some tips that will help you create a DIY Gift Box:

Prepare the supplies you will need for work - paper or cardstock, pencil, scissors, glue, and ruler. When it comes to the main material, we recommend you to use cardstock - it is more durable; however, if the present you are planning to put inside the box does not weigh a lot, two or three sheets of regular paper glued together would work well. One of the popular Gift Box ideas is to use spare felt - however, only go for it if your handicraft skills allow it. Cut out a square you will later fold into the shape of a box.
Separate the cardstock into four equal triangles by drawing an X through the corners and fold them into the central point - ensure they look perfectly symmetrical. Fold two of the flaps (the parts located opposite one another) into the center making sure the edges match the vertical line you have drawn. Smooth out the workpiece and create creases for the triangle flaps on the top and bottom creating a diamond. Fold the triangles in to make a smaller square again and put small triangles outside - glue the side slaps to make a small box.
The same steps should be followed when you make the other part of the box - however, this time, the cardstock or paper you work with is supposed to be smaller; we suggest you to measure it carefully and make sure it is slightly smaller than the bigger element. When all the sides are glued down, let them dry out and put the parts together to create a Gift Box where you will later put your special present.
