Blood Chart: What Is It?

A Blood Chart refers to several charts which are all related to blood in some way. They can either refer to the function of the heart by looking at the blood pressure or by looking for specific components in the blood which need to be monitored such as the amount of sugar or alcohol in the blood. By looking at such Blood Charts, an individual or a doctor can gain an understanding of their health and act accordingly if any health issues are flagged up. In some instances, this can be the difference between life or death.

Blood is responsible for many crucial processes and without it we would not be able to function. By looking at the blood, we can find out many important things and it is often the first indicator of any infections or health problems. In some instances, a doctor may ask a patient to keep a log of specific measurements relating to blood and there are usually specific instructions that need to be taken to ensure that the measurements taken are consistent and reflect the real results.

Blood Chart Types

  • A Blood Pressure Log allows an individual to make a note of their blood pressure to determine how blood circulates in the blood vessels within the body. There is a specific way that measurements need to be taken and by keeping a log, it will allow a doctor to detect any abnormalities;
  • A Blood Sugar Log is used by individuals that need to monitor their blood sugar levels at regular intervals throughout the day, an extremely important practice that is common among people with diabetes. There are certain times of day and times that these recordings must be taken so it is important to determine these with a healthcare professional first;
  • A Blood Alcohol Level Chart allows someone to calculate the content of alcohol in their blood which is extremely important if an individual wants to drive after consuming alcohol as this can lead to a drunk driving conviction. Although there are other factors that determine the speed of how alcohol is metabolized, this chart will give you an idea of how much alcohol could be left in your system.
