Do You Need a Bill of Sale in Indiana?

An Indiana Bill of Sale is a document you fill out when selling or buying any property in the state of Indiana. The main purpose of this document is to record the transfer of the property between two parties (the seller and the buyer) and all essential details of the deal.

Even when not required, the Indiana Bill of Sale is still a useful document. It contains a lot of important information both the buyer and the seller need when it comes to filling out their tax reports. With the help of this document, the buyers can prove they are the new owners of the described items, whereas for the sellers it is evidence that releases them from the responsibility for the transferred item.
