An Alaska Grant Deed is supposed to be used to shift ownership of real property in Alaska from a grantor to a grantee. According to state law, the grant deed needs to be recorded to provide constructive notice of its contents to subsequent buyers and holders of a security interest in the property or its part (40.17.080). The Alaska Statutes has more stipulations dedicated to real estate transfer which can be found in Title 40 Public Records and Recorders.
