Grant Deed Form - Kansas

A Kansas Grant Deed is a document that can be used to shift property from the grantor to the grantee. It contains implied covenants that the grantor has not previously sold the real property interest now being shifted and that the property is being transferred without any undisclosed liens or encumbrances. Grand deeds are not specifically addressed in the Kansas Statutes, however, the conditions of Chapter 58 can be applied to them as to the instrument which is used for real estate conveyances. Therefore, to be legitimate the grant deed must be acknowledged before a person authorized by the uniform law (58-2211).
