How to Write an Apology Letter to Your Boss?
To write a Letter of Apology to Boss, include the following:
- Today's Date.
- Opening salutation to your boss.
- Start the letter by expressing your deepest apologies and citing specifically what you did that caused the problem.
- Be sincere and honest in your writing, do not simply apologize without meaning;
- Remain professional throughout the letter and do not try to blame others or offer an excuse for your poor behavior.
- Explain to your boss how you will improve your behavior or amend your actions. Show that you have thought critically about what you will need to do to demonstrate that you are committed to being a positive member of the team.

- Close the letter by again admitting your errors, how to plan to rectify the situation, how you will perform differently in the future, and that you understand how your actions affected your boss's feelings and view of you.
- Closing salutation.

December 15th, 2021
Dear Ms. Pattmore,
I am writing to you today to express my sincere apologies for the way I behaved at the Governor's Dinner last Friday evening. I know that I spoke out of turn to several of my coworkers and hurt not only their feelings, but yours as my supervisor.
I have thought deeply about why I behaved the way I did and I acknowledge that I should have asked others more politely for help in preparing for the event, rather than allow my stress to overwhelm me and shout at my coworkers. This reflects poorly not just on me, but also on the event staff, since Governor Grantham's family was upstairs preparing for the event and could have heard.
To rectify my poor behavior I have talked with Mrs. Hughes about techniques I could employ to manage my stress when preparing for large events. She has given me tips on deep breathing, asking others for help before waiting until the last minute, and an online tutorial about how to work with people in a group setting. I know in the past I am used to taking charge and being a leader instead of a follower, but as our team has grown, I realize I need to learn how to work as part of a team and not a solo act.
I plan to also apologize to the rest of the team about my behavior and assure them that I have every intention of acting in a more courteous and supportive manner in the future. I will especially apologize to Daisy since I know I made her cry. I understand that actions speak louder than words, and I intend to show you that I will not behave this way again in the future.
