Notary Acknowledgment Form - Illinois

An Illinois Notary Acknowledgment Form is signed to legitimize any signatures present on a document and is done so by a notary public. This may be a legal requirement in some states, depending on the type of document being signed. Usually, such requirements are reserved for documents concerning wills and properties but the list can be quite extensive, depending on the state.

In order to confirm the legitimacy of the presented signatures, the notary public should confirm the identification of each person and must also be certain that any signatures presented were done so without any pressure. Although the actual signatures do not need to be signed in the presence of a notary public, this is still highly recommended as it could avoid future misunderstandings. Only after this will a notary public sign the Illinois Notary Acknowledgment by adding their details, signature and seal. If signing requirements are not taken into account, the signed document will not be a legally binding document.
