Notary Acknowledgment Form - Louisiana

A Louisiana Notary Acknowledgment Form is a legal attachment found at the end of a legal document. The sole purpose of this acknowledgment is to legally document the fact that any signatures contained within a legal document have been verified by a notary public.

The notary public is legally obliged to also authenticate the identity of all involved people. There is no need for the notary to witness the people signing the document, but this is still an option. On the contrary, if signatures are placed prior to the meeting with the notary public then all participants must state that the document is being signed willingly.

After this, the notary public is free to sign the Louisiana Notary Acknowledgment which is usually confirmed with a stamp. This form is then attached to the relevant document and after this it becomes legally binding. Such requirements are not necessary for all documents - only the most important ones which may differ between states.
