How to Fill Out Form N244?

Follow these steps to complete the N244 Application Form:

  1. Record the name of the court that is handling your case and the number of your claim.
  2. Write down the number of your fee account. If you have requested help with the N244 Form fee because of financial hardship, you can provide a reference number instead.
  3. State the number of the warrant. Enter the names of the claimant and the defendant and date the form.
  4. Identify yourself. If this application is prepared by a legal representative, they must introduce themselves and add the name of their organization.
  5. Indicate your case status and specify the litigant you represent if necessary. Outline what order you are looking for and why do you need it. Answer "yes" if you have enclosed a draft of the required order.
  6. Select a preferred option to confirm whether you want this application to be handled during a hearing, without a traditional hearing, or via phone. Note that the court may decline a proposed telephone hearing or will not consider an application without scheduling a formal hearing first.
  7. State the estimated time of the hearing and check the appropriate box if all parties share your opinion.
  8. Record the fixed date of the hearing if you know it already. Write down the level of judge the hearing will need.
  9. Name people who must receive this application. In case you enter any names, provide service addresses as well.
  10. List evidence that supports your application. You may rely on the statement from the witness, other formal documents, and the facts you describe in the space provided in the application. Attach a separate sheet if you need to express your point of view and write down all relevant details.
  11. Certify you understand the negative consequences of any false statement you make in the application. Confirm you believe all the facts you have added in writing are correct to the best of your knowledge.
  12. Sign the document and indicate your status (e.g., "applicant," "appointed representative of the child or a protected party," or "legal representative of the applicant").
  13. Date the application and write down your full name. If the form is completed by the legal representative, they must record the name of their firm once again and indicate their office or position.
