Homeschool Report Card Template

A Homeschool Report Card is a type of report card that can be used by teachers (or tutors) to notify parents about the progress of their children who are being homeschooled. Through report cards, teachers communicate with their students' parents and inform them about their children's grades.

Generally, a Homeschool Report Card is issued by teachers and tutors who are teaching homeschool children. It is not required but can be helpful to track the student's progress and keep their parents up to date with their children's success. If parents are teaching their homeschooled children themselves, they can also issue report cards for their own records. A Homeschool Report Card template can be downloaded below.

How to Make a Homeschool Report Card?

Making a Homeschooled Report Card can be an easy-going process. Since this type of report card is not mandatory you can use a homeschool report card maker to create your own report cards for your children. A common report card for homeschooled students can include the following parts:

  1. The Title . Usually, the majority of reports start with a precise title. In this case, it can start with "Report Card" if you want to go for a traditional title, or "Homeschool Report Card" if you want to go for something more exact.
  2. Information About the Student . Here, you can designate the name of the student whose progress is being reported, their school year, age, and other identifying details.
  3. Subjects and Grades . This is the biggest part of the report card and it is supposed to designate the progress of the student. Commonly, it is presented as a timetable that consists of two columns and a certain amount of lines that matches the number of subjects that the student has taken. Each subject is presented on a separate line and corresponds with a grade that the student has received. If the report card is covering several time periods (quarters or terms), then the number of columns can be increased and the teacher can also add an overall grade below the timetable.
  4. Instructions . This section of the Homeschool Report Card is supposed to inform students and their parents what kind of grading system the teacher has used.
  5. Other Details . Additionally, in the report card, the teacher can include information about the student's attendance or absence, the number of hours they spent on each subject, student's habits, and make notes for parents.

Due to its specific content, this type of report card can only be used to demonstrate the grades of the students who are being homeschooled.
