Real Estate Power of Attorney Template - Connecticut

If you want to select a legal representative who will negotiate and sign agreements related to real estate, you need to compose a Connecticut Real Estate Power of Attorney Form.

Make sure you explicitly define the powers your legal representative will hold - for example, you can ask your agent to purchase a house on your behalf, file an application to refinance a mortgage and sign all documents related to it, or manage the property as an independent realtor or an employee of the real estate agency.

There are two conditions every principal must follow when authorizing someone to formalize any real estate deals in Connecticut - a notary public has to acknowledge the signature confirming the person signing the document is not under duress and the form must be signed by two witnesses. You are entitled to revoke this authorization at any time - notify the agent about it via certified mail to obtain a receipt in case there are any disagreements or disputes in the future.
