Student Behavior Checklist: What Is It?

A Student Behavior Checklist is created and handed out by a teacher (or possibly an administrator within an educational establishment) and handed over to students although sometimes, they are left for the teacher to fill in. The purpose of the checklist is to evaluate (or if a student fills it in themselves, to self-evaluate) their behavior within an educational establishment.

This can provide students and teachers with an insight into the motivation, performance and attitude that a student has towards a specific course, lesson, topic or teacher. This feedback is vital as it can help both the student and the teacher to figure out a solution and make the necessary amends to fix any problems, if such problems do exist. This may require additional support from the teacher or maybe a slightly different approach in their teaching style. Whatever the solution is, the checklist aims to locate any problems, get to the core of them and then work on resolving them.

They can be particularly useful for students that have special needs or children that come from a difficult background.
