Job Title: Food Security and Nutrition Analyst
Proposed Pay Level: SB 3
Organizational Context and Role Under the overall guidance of the Country Director and direct
supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the VAM Associate provides support to
assessment, monitoring and evaluation of activities ensuring high quality, accuracy and
consistency of work.
The Nutritional and Food Security Analyst contributes to the production of VAM based evidence
that supports food security and nutrition policy and programme improvement (e.g. needs
assessment and situation analyses, programme design, targeting, cost effectiveness, and
operational efficiency) and works in close collaboration with the Programme Unit and field staff in
the CO.
Duration of Employment: Six months with a possible extension subject to performance and
availability of funds
Job Content
1. Contribute to the development of needs and nutrition assessment related activities, plans
and processes, ensuring alignment with wider WFP policies, processes and guidance.
2. Support the design and development of systems and tools for the assessment of food and
nutrition assistance needs and the targeting of beneficiairies in line with innovative
methodologies and best practice.
3. Liaise and coordinate with sub-offices and cooperating partners to ensure adequate and
timely assessment of food and nutrition security and market related needs of target
populations.
4. Strengthen the operational capacity of WFP staff and cooperating partners to conduct food
and nutrition security and market assessments and analysis, as well as beneficiary
targeting exercises.
5. Build government capacities to undertake food and nutrition security assessments and
carry out analysis of food security, nutritional status, vulnerability and market information.
6. Provides timely and quality food and nutritional security and market related information
and analysis to the country office in support of project implementation and redesign, and
report preparation.
7. Promotes Human Rights and Gender based approach in his/her area of competency.
8. Other as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
University degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Health/Nutrition,
Geography or other related field.
Experience: Demonstrated proficiency in the use of several statistical tools and methods to
carryout analysis. Developed practical expertise in mapping (including design, data
collection and analysis).
Knowledge and Skills: Good writing skills and fluency in English is highly desired.
