Property Management Agreement Template - South Dakota

A South Dakota Property Management Agreement is needed to legally document the permission of a person or company to manage a property. This agreement is important as it clearly sets out in writing all of the responsibilities that are being delegated to the manager. In most cases, this involves dealing with tenants (signing contracts with them, taking the financial aspect of the rental agreement into your own hands, and looking for new tenants). Managers also make a pledge to look after the property and ensure that any queries are resolved quickly. For doing this job, the owner will pay the manager and this payment can come in the form of a rental percentage or as a monthly standard payment.

In South Dakota, there is no legal requirement for the manager to possess a real estate license as is the case in the majority of states. However, instead, they would need to hold a special property management license. There is an exception for those working for federal or state properties.
