What Is an Arizona Generic Bill of Sale?

​An Arizona Generic Bill of Sale is a document you complete in order to transfer the ownership of any property from one party to another. Does Arizona Require a Bill of Sale?

Arizona laws do not require that you fill out a Bill of Sale when transferring any property other than watercraft. The document is intended for buyer's and seller's convenience and protection and it is up to them to decide whether they need that protection or not. The state does not offer any legally issued forms except for Form 48-2004, Vehicle Bill of Sale and Form 678, Watercraft Bill of Sale. Arizona Bill of Sale Requirements

If you are creating your personal form, make sure to include the following information:

  1. The names and addresses of the seller and buyer;
  2. A paragraph that explains if the buyer takes the described property "as is", or if the seller provides a warranty. This information is important in Arizona;
  3. The information about the transferred property that helps to identify it. For example, if you sell a laptop, describe its model, manufacturer, size, and serial number;
  4. The amount paid for the item. Provide the item value both in words and in numbers;
  5. The date the bill of sale becomes effective.

Does a Bill of Sale Have to Be Notarized in Arizona?
